Here comes the bride

~ Lucy

Steph and I were still talking when Sam and Cori came out of the dressing rooms. Hath asked her about a veil, but Sam said she didn’t want a veil, just some flowers and the hair pins that Jon had given her.

After leaving the bridal shop, we went for lunch at a small café, we had a little time to kill before our day at the spa, compliments of Jon through Hath. We didn’t know anything about that part, but we sure the hell weren’t going to pass it up, Cori had to be convinced, but it didn’t take much, I mean who doesn’t like a day of pampering.

Hath had arranged for us to get everything. Hair, nails, facials, make up…everything.

“I wonder what the guys are doing” I asked as I was getting my facial done.

“Nothing this fun” Sam laughed.

“That’s cause they don’t know how to have fun.” Was Hath’s reply.

We all laughed at how guys just didn’t seem to get it. They loved when we were all dressed up, our hair looking perfect, make up perfectly applied, but bitched about having to wait for us…do they think we can just step into a telephone booth like superman and come out looking like that? It takes time to look beautiful.

It was Sam’s turn to get her hair done. She basically told the girl do whatever you wanted just make sure you use the hair pins Jon had given her. Fortunately Steph is our other one that’s on the ball, Sam almost forgot about the flowers for her hair, and the rest of us were still getting treatments done but Steph brought them over to the hair dresser so fortunately we dodged a bullet there.

The rest of us were all finished with our treatments by the time the girl working on Sam’s hair was done, but it was worth the wait, her hair looked beautiful. Lots of curls flowing in an elaborate pattern, the flowers place in a half circle among the curls and the hair pins that Jon had given Sam looked gorgeous.

We had to rush a bit to get back to the hotel, but we made it there just before 5:00, fortunately all our rooms were on the same floor so we each stopped at our rooms, grabbed our dresses and cocktail purses and headed for Sam’s room.

Nathan looked like a nervous wreck, pacing the floor, telling us we better get a move on it, that the sun would be setting soon. It wasn’t a problem though, all we had to do was change into our dresses and help Sam into hers, thank God Hath had made those appointments for us, Jon would be so pissed if we got Sam late to the ceremony.

There were two limos that pulled up in front of the hotel. One for the Harem and matron of honor and one for Sam, Nathan.

It was a short trip to the Jefferson memorial where the ceremony would take place. We had all taken our places and were just waiting for Sam to get out of the limo.

You could hear a pin drop in that place as all faces were on Sam as Nathan helped her out of the limo. With a nod from Cori, Richie started playing the wedding march. He was such a talented guitarist, only he could make an already beautiful song, sound even more beautiful.

Looking around, I saw Steph, Hath and even Ang dabbing at their eyes, thank God! I was afraid I’d be the only one already crying. The whole atmosphere was just so moving, The way Jon watch Sam make her way towards him, the love you could see on both of their faces, it was truly a fairy tale wedding. I could only hope to have a ceremony this beautiful.

When Richie finished playing he took his place next to Jon. And the wedding ceremony was underway.
